About the YouTube Channel Growth Specialist 

We are looking for a passionate YouTube Channel Growth Specialist (Music) who will work directly with our clients/partners, artists, and online influencers to help them grow views, watch time and engagement on their YouTube channel.  In this role, you will provide proactive channel management and growth tactics to our top tier VIP partners, and network partners in our domestic markets. You will also work alongside BBTV’s music division, Opposition, to drive success for artists, labels, and other music creators in the digital space.


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the YouTube platform, music industry, video programming, SEO, written and verbal communication and presentation skills, time management skills and customer service driven attitude. Within this role, you must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects, problem solve and work under pressure in a fast-paced media and technology-driven environment.


You are comfortable working in demanding environments and you are driven to make an impact. You never accept second best, have a keen eye for detail and your output remains consistent when under pressure. You understand how to reach the individual through a suitable voice and message, and bring valuable insight to the wider team. You have made a positive contribution in your previous roles and proactively make suggestions to improve tactics, and processes. Prior professional work experience is not a mandatory requirement - what is more important is your proven experience managing and growing successful YouTube channel(s).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop close, professional relationships with BBTV’s creators while providing them with top-notch support, guidance and services
  • Provide ongoing YouTube channel growth strategy to creators (e.g. programming, channel optimization and management, analytics, branding, monetization) to help grow their audience and increase engagement
  • Plan and coordinate content strategies and release schedules with labels, artist management teams, and other music creators for YouTube and other social media platforms
  • Respond to questions and concerns regarding BBTV’s products & services, YouTube copyright and community guidelines, and the YouTube platform itself in a highly responsive and attentive style
  • Regularly communicate with creators and follow up to ensure they are implementing provided growth tactics
  • Develop a strong rate of retention through value-driven service and incentives
  • Ensure an up-to-date knowledge level on YouTube updates and trends in the digital video space
  • Update and maintain a calendar of Audience Development sessions with BBTV’s partners.
  • Maintain a proactive schedule of communications and initiatives
  • Organize and administer educational webinars
  • Provide regular updates to management and peers on creators’ channel development, initiatives and results
  • Provide expertise in developing the documentation, marketing communications, videos and other resources relevant to YouTube and creator success
  • Ensure regular transfer of knowledge and insights to the wider Partner Experience team, as well as the Talent Management and Content Acquisition departments
  • Track and maintain up-to-date data, partner feedback, records and plans
  • Optimize partner content on YouTube and other digital outlets
  • Track and analyze metrics and activities pertaining to your portfolio such as growth, revenue, CPMs, retention dates and services rendered.
  • Track targets and KPI’s on a regular basis


Key Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in account management, premium service environment, music business (record labels, publishing, artist management, etc.) or digital marketing will be a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of digital video production and programming  
  • Experience in the media, music, entertainment and/or technology industry is a plus
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Ability to provide clear direction on high-quality content creation
  • Strong understanding of the YouTube platform, Channel Management and Google Adwords
  • Proven experience in SEO on YouTube, and/or in Google Search 
  • Mastery of Office Suite (MS or Google), in particular with Word and Excel 
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills 
  • Proven client relationship management skills 
  • Ability to be both, self-directed and highly collaborative
  • Ability to track, analyze and manage data and records
  • Positive attitude fueled by ambition to drive results
  • Passionate about music
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent work experience
